The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that structures work into protected 25-minute blocks separated by short 5-minute breaks. The timer enforces the boundary between the work block and the break, protecting the block from internal interruptions caused by the urge to check notifications or move on to other tasks. Every four blocks there is a long break of 15-30 minutes. The mechanism does not depend on willpower: the constraint is external and procedural. Distinctive: the timer enforces the boundary Distinctive: protected 25-minute blocks Essential: work block Essential: short 5-minute breaks Constant: protecting the block from internal interruptions
