The transformational style is a leadership approach you can recognize when the leader explicitly sets out a medium-term direction, connects daily choices to that direction and invests time in one-on-one coaching of key team members. It is associated with higher levels of engagement in contexts of growth or rebuilding. It requires constant communicative energy and tends to wear the leader down in contexts of prolonged stability.
