Execution control is the form of supervision that focuses on the operating methods chosen by the team member, intervening with improvised interruptions instead of planned check-ins. Perceived by the team member as distrust regardless of the intention of whoever exercises it, it creates dependence on the manager and reduces or eliminates the autonomy transferred. It is often reactive to the delegator's insecurities, not designed in the briefing. When execution control replaces outcome control, delegation remains formal but empty of content.
