Organizational arbitration is the decision made by a third party, usually whoever holds authority, after hearing the parties in conflict. Unlike mediation, it does not protect the parties' autonomy: it is faster, but it can leave lingering dissatisfaction. It is the right tool when the conflict is about who holds the decision-making mandate, or when mediation is not workable.
